We Shall Remember...
Pray for our country and our leaders
"Page o' Fun"
The band is well. We went 1 for 2 with Relay for Life this year - the last one was a washout, and we played a private beach party. Both are chronicled in FanAntics. We also played a high school band awards ceremony recently (see below). We even have a Christmas party booked! All we need now is for Butch, Kathy, Debbie and all those good folks in Jacksonville to set up a party so we can go on a road trip and play there!
If our fans have a lead on a gig for us, we will certainly listen. Drop us a line and let us know what/who you know about any possible gigs. After all, you guys make it happen for us. A BIG THANK YOU to our fans for helping us with our successes.
The Relay for Life is a fundraiser for cancer research put on by the American Cancer Society. It’s difficult when someone you know and love is afflicted with this terrible disease. Whether your loved-one survives or doesn’t, your life is definitely changed. These are great nights to give something back to the community.

We were invited to play at an awards ceremony for a local high school (GO WILDCATS!). It was an afternoon ceremony at yet another country club. The banquet itself was very classy. After hearing about all the hard work the kids put into their performances this year, they deserved classy. To be honest, we weren't sure what all the gig entailed, so we did what we did best - just play!
The crowd seemed to enjoy what we were doing, but I think some of the kids didn't want to dance in front of their parents - or their peers. I think the parents felt the same awkwardness in front of the kids. After a bit, a few brave souls got on the floor. Occasionally, small groups of people would crowd the floor, but, overall, they were more content to listen than dance.
The awards ceremony itself was complete with all the "thank you's" and such. It was obvious that the band director John appreciated his musicians, and they in turn appreciated him. John told us later that Second Thoughts' presence provided the right atmosphere for the banquet. From all the positive feedback we received, we wouldn't be surprised if we were invited back next year.
